Hardware & Server Deployment
Bare-metal racking, structured cabling, server hardening, and security-appliance installation - done properly, on-site, by NexusSec for businesses in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, and across India.
Physical infrastructure, deployed right
Great security and networking still rest on well-deployed physical infrastructure. NexusSec handles the full deployment lifecycle - racking, cabling, configuration, and hardening - for servers, storage, network devices, and security appliances, from a single rack to a full edge or core build.
We deploy and harden hardware from Dell, HPE, and TrueNAS, with virtualization on Proxmox and VMware ESXi, and every server ships hardened - not left on defaults.
What we deploy
End-to-end physical and logical deployment.
Bare-Metal Racking
Professional racking of servers, storage, and network gear.
Structured Cabling
Clean, labelled, documented cabling built to last.
Server Hardening
Secure configuration, patching, and access control on every box.
Security Appliances
Firewalls and security devices installed and configured.
Storage & Virtualization
TrueNAS storage and Proxmox / VMware ESXi virtualization.
Migration & Decommission
Safe migration and secure decommissioning of old kit.
How we deploy
Planned, documented, and hardened from day one.
Plan
Bill of materials, rack layout, and power/cooling checks.
Rack & Cable
Physical install with clean, documented cabling.
Configure & Harden
Secure configuration, patching, and testing.
Document
Full documentation and support handover.
What we need before we arrive
Deployments overrun for boringly predictable reasons, and almost all of them are site readiness rather than technical difficulty. Confirming these before the date is what keeps a deployment to a single visit:
- Power - adequate circuits, correct socket types, and UPS capacity sized for the new load rather than the old one.
- Cooling and placement - a rack in a sealed cupboard will throttle or fail. Airflow direction and ambient temperature matter more than most people expect.
- Rack space and depth - free units are not the only constraint; enterprise servers are often deeper than the rack bought for them.
- Uplinks and cabling - enough ports of the right speed and media, patched and labelled, before the hardware lands.
- IP addressing and VLANs - agreed in advance, ideally as part of a documented network design.
- Access and timing - building access, lift booking, and an out-of-hours window if the work interrupts anything live.
We walk through this list with you before scheduling. It is unglamorous, and it is the difference between one clean deployment visit and three return trips.
Deployment questions, answered
What is server hardening?
Securing a server by reducing its attack surface - removing unneeded services, applying secure configs and patches, enforcing access control, and enabling logging.
What hardware does NexusSec deploy?
Servers, storage, network devices, and security appliances from Dell, HPE, and TrueNAS, with Proxmox / VMware ESXi virtualization - racked, cabled, configured, and hardened.
Do you provide on-site deployment in Mumbai?
Yes. NexusSec is based in Airoli, Navi Mumbai, and deploys on-site across Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, and India.
Do you supply the hardware, or only install it?
Both. We can specify and supply servers, storage, switching and firewall appliances, or deploy equipment you have already bought. We will also tell you if what you have purchased is wrong for the workload before it is racked rather than after.
Do you work with refurbished enterprise hardware?
Yes, and for lab, test and non-critical workloads it is often the sensible choice - see our refurbished hardware page. For production systems carrying the business we will advise where used equipment is a false economy, typically drives, power supplies, and anything without a support path.
How long does a server deployment take?
A single server or appliance is usually a one-day visit once the site is ready. A rack build with storage, switching and virtualisation typically runs two to four days including configuration and testing. Site readiness, not the technical work, usually determines the timeline.
Do you handle virtualisation and storage configuration too?
Yes - Proxmox, VMware ESXi, and TrueNAS and Synology storage, including cluster design, high availability and backup configuration. Deploying the metal without configuring what runs on it is half a job.
Do you cover backup and recovery as part of deployment?
Backup is configured and, more importantly, a restore is tested before we sign off. An untested backup is an assumption. We will not hand over a deployment where nobody has yet proven data can be recovered.
