Where VMware still makes sense
Despite licensing changes, VMware remains the strongest option in several situations: where your backup, monitoring and compliance tooling is built around vSphere APIs; where enterprise support contracts are contractually required; and at scale or with features such as advanced DRS behaviour, NSX networking or established VDI deployments.
Migration is not merely a hypervisor swap — it is an operational ecosystem change. Where that ecosystem is deeply embedded, staying on VMware is often the correct decision, and we will support that honestly rather than pushing an alternative.
